Eyebrow Techniques

There are many ways to describe the same thing.  Some words for eyebrow tattoos are a description of the end result, such as Feathered, Hairstroke, etc.  Other names describe the tool used to make the eyebrow tattoo, like Microbladed and Nanobladed.

A hand tool made up of multiple needles is called a microblade or nanoblade based on the diameter of the needles. When using a  'blade' to make hair-like strokes filled with pigment to simulate eyebrow hair you may hear it called Microblading, Micro-stroking, 3-D Brows, Hairstroke Eyebrows and Feathered Brows, and more.  All of these words describe an eyebrow tattoo created by using a 'blade' or rotary tattoo machine.   The results resemble natural hair  Pros: creates eyebrows when there are none or enhances existing eyebrows; looks realistic, natural, and subtle.

Powdered, Full-color, and Shaded are words describing eyebrow tattoos created using a rotary tattoo machine resembling the application of conventional eyebrow pencil or eyebrow powder makeup. Pros: creates eyebrows when there are none or enhances existing eyebrows; more coverage, can cover faded eyebrow tattoos and neutralize or correct unwanted tones.

Ombre and Combo are words to describe eyebrows that are lighter at the origin (by your nose) and darker as they extend toward your ear. The technician may use a 'blade' or rotary tattoo machine to create this effect.

 

Permanent cosmetics are not necessarily intended to replace makeup completely. When you want to kick up your heels and go out for a night on the town, or want to darker or widen, you may apply brow powder or pencil over healed eyebrow tattoos.
