The right pre-care and aftercare are insurance for a great outcome.

For your first procedure appointment or follow-up visit, please bring pictures of your desired result and avoid makeup in the procedure area.  You may bring your conventional makeup for color reference. No mascara or lash extensions for eyeliner procedures.

PRECARE - How to get your body & skin ready for the procedure:

3 weeks before the procedure:

  • If you have food or cosmetic allergies, you may want to schedule a consultation.  In the notes mention you would like a patch test, which may include 2 office visits.  During the first visit, a small dot of pigment will be tattooed behind your ear in your hairline.  After 24 hours, you will return for your second visit to assess your reaction to the pigment or you may assess the reaction yourself.  The fee is $25.

  • If you do not have extreme allergies, you may skip the patch test.

  • For lip procedures, if you have had cold sores at any time in your life contact your doctor for an antiviral prescription.  Take as directed by your doctor.

2 weeks before and after the procedure:

  • Limit sun exposure.  Tanned skin will not allow for a realistic assessment of the pigment color when selecting a color for your procedure.

  • Do not have microdermabrasion, neuromodulators (Dysport, Botox), or chemical peels.

1 week before and after the procedure:

  • Do not tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis around the procedure area.

  • Per approval of your primary care physician discontinue the use of Fish Oil, Krill Oil, Omega 3, Vitamin E, aspirin, and Tylenol. (all procedures).  These substances cause more blood and lymph fluid to be present during and after your procedure.   Medication should not be stopped without consulting your physician.

5 days before your procedure:

  • Eyeliner: Have lash extensions removed.

  • Lips: if you have had 1 cold sore anytime in your life, you must be on an anti-viral (Valtrex, Valcyclovir) medication for a minimum of 5 days before, the day of, and 5 days after. Be sure to get enough medication for both of your sessions. Lips generally require 2 appointments.

1 day before any procedure:

  • Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours.  Alcohol thins your blood and your permanent makeup will scab and pull out the color.  The healed result will be blotchy or will have minimal pigment retention.

12 hours before any procedure:

  • Do not workout.

The day of your procedure:

  • If you are prescribed anti-anxiety medication, this would be a good time to take it, as directed by your doctor.

  • If you are caffeine dependent you may consume your normal amount of coffee or caffeinated drink to avoid a headache. Caffeine interfers with numbing agents.

  • Eyeliner: remove contacts and wear your glasses for the next 3 days.

You may want to set reminders to assist you with these important tasks.

Additional Information may be found below and on the FAQ page.

A Consultation Meeting or a combined Consultation Meeting and Procedure Appointment(s) may be followed by an optional follow-up visit 4-6 weeks later. The follow-up visit will take 1-2 hours and will include adding more pigment, shaping additions, and more saturation. Please note that the Follow-up Visit is an additional charge, which you can find on our Online Booking page.

Be prepared for the initial color of your permanent makeup to be more intense, sharper, and larger than the healed result at 4-6 weeks. The transition time depends on how quickly the healing process occurs.

Permanent makeup pigments may change in color and intensity due to factors such as sun exposure, topical or intradermal products, skin tone, medication, health conditions, and levels of elastin and collagen.

After a procedure, it is advisable to avoid social plans for a few days. Additionally, it is best to avoid permanent makeup color correction procedures 2 months before important life events.

Oily skin and sun-damaged skin may be difficult to achieve an even result.

50% of permanent cosmetic procedures require more than one visit.

Pre-care & Aftercare

Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. If during your healing process, you have any questions or concerns, please text or call 832-544-1486.

The outcome of permanent cosmetic procedures is dictated by the canvas (your skin). The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be.  Also, keep in mind that muscle-skin tension and movement during your procedure combined with low concentrations of elastin and collagen, skin laxity, and wrinkles will result in uneven results.  The better you take care of your skin and protect it from UV rays, the better the lifespan of your permanent cosmetics procedures.

Oily skin and sun damaged skin can be very difficult to achieve an even result.
